Wayne has over 20 years of experience in the waste industry and joined Enviro NZ in 2007. Wayne’s passion is the environment and his role with Enviro NZ includes the development of remedial strategy and methodology for contaminated site projects. One of the major projects that Wayne oversaw, was the clean-up and recovery of the MV Rena which ran aground on the Astrolabe reef in Tauranga in 2011, including designing, building, and managing the volunteer personnel decontamination units at the beaches. Wayne is also responsible for storm water pond maintenance projects and wastewater and groundwater treatment plant design build and operations. In addition to his role at Enviro NZ, Wayne is a Chairman of WasteMINZ, the largest representative body of the waste and resource recovery sector in New Zealand.
